Overall and Final Verdict

One of the downsides to being an adult is that while you can completely ignore things around the house and never clean anything. You are also extremely aware of what will happen when you put things off too long. Mopping and keeping floors clean is one of those things where it is easy to put off in the moment, but the next time someone is coming over you are panicking trying to get things clean. So getting something to simplify that is a nice treat and the Mach V1 Ultra is exactly that. You can mop and scrub and as long as you stay on top of things you will get the job done. The Mach V1 Ultra just simplifies things and saves you some of the hard work. With that, it does do a great job at what it is designed to do. Similar to a basic cordless vacuum it is designed to be easy to pick up and clean up any mess on the floor. It can handle spilled liquids, vacuum carpets or rugs, clean up dust and dirt on the floor, and its main function is scrubbing and cleaning your floor. The Ultra model also adds steam to that as well which you can use to disinfect as you clean, saving cleaning solutions and sometimes helping get harder to clean spots up.

There are cheaper floor cleaner options out there and some even do steam. The Mach V1 though utilizes its charging dock and built-in ozone generation to clean the Mach V1 up after you use it to keep the spinning brush and machine clean and smelling good. Similar devices often will start to smell and a lot of them just use microfiber pads that you have to put in the laundry and swap out in between uses. Those designs don’t have the same level of scrubbing, leaving the scrubbing to you just like with mopping. The Mach V1 Ultra is cordless and has up to 88 minutes of cleaning time depending on how you use it. In my testing I didn’t run into any battery concerns, of course, if you have a giant house and you are taking your time you could still run into that. The main limitation I ran into was the clean water capacity which would save a stop or two each time you clean if it were larger.

I did get a little confused with the naming of the cleaning modes but I know that is an issue that will go away once my goldfish memory lets me remember how things work. The inclusion of an app wasn’t needed at all and just felt like it was added just to make sure you can call it a smart cleaner. Beyond that, my only other concern was with the long-term cost of ownership. The replacement brushes and filters are a little expensive, thankfully with the post-clean cleaning of the brush that shouldn’t need to be replaced too often. The cleaning solution on the other hand was more expensive than I would have hoped, especially with it being potentially 95% water if the specifications are correct. A more concentrated solution would be nice or allow the use of something that can be picked up locally at stores which would keep the costs down rather than having to use a proprietary cleaning solution.

None of those issues are enough to prevent me from using the Mach V1 Ultra but the pricing could be the biggest sticking point. The Mach V1 Ultra has an MSRP of $699.99. The non-ultra model is cheaper at $579.99 and right now it has a coupon for $80 off on Amazon. But both models aren’t a cheap pickup. There are a few options on the market with a similar spinning brush that are around $300 including the Bissell Crosswave HF3. The premium for the Mach V1 and the Mach V1 Ultra is covering the cool styling, the integrated screen and controls, and the ozone generation that helps keep things from smelling. Thankfully Anker and eufy products are known to have huge discounts during sales and even now not long after its launch the Mach V1 has that coupon. If the price isn’t a concern this is a great product, but for most, you may want to make sure you pick it up on a sale.
