Wow, as of March 17th its going to be 10 years of posting reviews and news. LanOC started off as a joke, talking about hosting a LAN party to promote myself running for council in our small town. It quickly turned into a very real event. From there after a few events, one of our sponsors asked if we had ever considered posting up coverage and not long after that I ended up posting up a few (really bad) reviews. Things just grew from there really. Our events had been relatively small at the time started to grow as well as our readership on the review side of things. Eventually, the review website started to take up all of my free time and I ended up leaving my job to do it full time.

In those ten years, I’ve met many amazing people and have learned a lot. Our coverage started to become passable and I’ve continued to try to improve something on every article. In that time we have posted up 1134 reviews and about 6000 news posts and the number of views we see monthly is higher than I would have ever thought we would see in a lifetime. The numbers for stuff like the number of photos taken is crazy, so much so that I opened up the folder and had windows counting but as of writing this it is still counting. Maybe we can do a contest to guess that number later.
Don’t worry, for the fans of our events they haven’t gone away. I have just had a long list of things that have held things up. I am still hoping to get things together for v20 soon! I also want to thank everyone for their support over the years. That includes everyone who has been to our events, our sponsors and partners, all of our audience who has helped one view at a time to keep this thing going!
That said, I haven’t given prizes away in a long time and to celebrate 10 years I decided to reach out to some of the companies that we partner with on reviews, builds, and with our LANs and the response has been amazing. Over the next few days, I will be announcing contests with each of them independently on our social media pages.

I will also be updating this post with links to each giveaway. All we ask is that you share this with your friends. I want to give as many people a chance to win as possible. Most of the contests will be exclusive to the continental US for shipping reasons and in some cases legal reasons with the sponsors. I do hope to slip in a few international prizes, even if they are game codes so keep an eye out for that. This will be running from Today until the end of the month with each contest having a different starting and ending date and time.
