This review is not about an SSD, but about the current Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 1TB HDD with a very good cost-performance ratio.
Sure, many PC or Mac owners save already their money for a fast Solid State Drive, however the price difference between HDD and SSD with the same capacity is so enormously high, that most SSD buyers will need an additional hard disk drive for their PC or Mac.
Let us have a closer look at the results of the Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 1TB SATA2 drive with 7200 rpm and 32 MB cache and let us compare them with some benchmark programs.

"Sapphire's Ultimate Edition HD 5550 is a videocard that has the structure and poise of a good videocard, but is lacking in a couple fundamental foundation elements to be deemed anything "Ultimate"."

"The ShockWave SU-201s were less than impressive and a letdown. The sound quality was only marginally better than what comes with my laptop, and they require power provided by the USB port while a second TRS connection is needed for the audio. The layout of speakers is also disappointing due to the location of the volume control dial. As the volume is increased on the SU-201s, distortion takes over and whatever you are listening to becomes nothing more than a muddy mess."

Although NZXT produces a wide-range of products, its fan controllers have become one of the highlights of its line-ups. The reasons are threefold: features, performance and price. We were left quite impressed with earlier Sentry models, and we can say that NZXT has done it once again with its Sentry LXE.

Solid State Drive storage devices have become the hot ticket for high-performance computer enthusiasts. Impartial towards either PC, Linux, or Apple platforms, SSDs have the power to transform slow computers into blazing-fast speed machines. The SandForce SF-1200 has quickly become the de facto SSD controller for companies seeking recognition, and for good reason. The G.Skill Phoenix Pro embraces the SF-1222TA3-SBH processor to produce up to 50,000 IOPS with only 7% over-provisioning to generate maximum performance with optimal capacity. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the 60GB G.Skill Phoenix Pro SSD FM-25S2S-60GBP2 against some of the fastest storage solutions on the market.

Like to be comfortable? Who doesn't! I personally have a hard
time with my notebook. Typing papers or just simply using it could be a
pain. I usually end up working on the table or something straight. We all
know that the best place to use a notebook is on the couch or a really comfy
chair. The problem comes with notebooks overheating or becoming extremely
hot and there is a risk of getting burned of course. There are plenty of
gadgets out there which are designed to work with you while you are on the
couch and we are privileged to review today a newest member of Cooler
Master, Choiix Comforter.

"The new SilverStone PS05 costs only USD 50 (Newegg.com offers free shipping plus a USD 10 mail-in rebate, making it to be the bargain of the month). Is it worthwhile to buy this case? Let's check it out."

" A few years ago, Thermaltake released the BlacX. It was one of the first (if not the first) hard drive docking stations for sale. Thermaltake was the company to really push the product to market. Now, Thermaltake is upping the ante by supporting two drives at once. "

Vantec has taken their NexStar 2.5" enclosure and upgraded the interface to USB 3.0 while keeping the looks identical. We take it for a speed to see if it makes sense for the small form factor.

There's no question that GRUB 2 brought on numerous improvements over earlier versions, but it also introduced a small downside... a relative overhaul to how things are done. There are no more menu.1st (or similar) files that keep a simple configuration, nor are all of the commands the exact same at the command-line. You might have been an expert with GRUB 0.x, but you'll still face a small learning-curve with GRUB 2.

The ASRock X58 Extreme 3 motherboard is a high-end solution for those of you looking to build a nice Core i7 system with tons of GPU, Stream Processing, CUDA and PhysX support.  It is a nice refresh to the X58 line from ASRock as it now incorporates USB 3.0, SATA 3.0 and eSATA 3.0 (6Gbps). . .

" 70 pages, and almost 300 booth babe pictures later its finally completed. There was well over 1500+ pictures to go through as well as editing the video of the ladies dancing, hence the reason it took so long to finish. But if you want to skip everything and go right to the booth babes we will understand. Enjoy the coverage until next year."

In September 2009, AMD unleashed a torrent of personal computing potential by introducing the market to the first sub-$100 quad-core processor, the Athlon-II X4-620 Since then, like it has with the entire Athlon-II series, AMD has been releasing newer versions of their inexpensive quad-core CPUs In this article, Benchmark Reviews takes a look at AMDs latest release in the Athlon-II X4 line, the Athlon-II X4-640 ADX640WFK42GM AM3 Processor Built on the Propus die, the Athlon-II X4 series cuts costs by eliminating any L3 cache and limiting the L2 cache to 512KB per core In looking at the performance of the Athlon-II X4-640, we will compare it to other recent AMD offerings in a similar price range, the Athlon-II X2-260 and the Athlon-II X3-445.

"This week Computer Ed is joined by Geoff Lyon from CoolIt Systems and they discuss enclosed liquid cooling systems. During the interview Computer Ed asks the tough question about why use an enclosed liquid system when air cooling can match it at better prices.
This is a very in-depth interview many questions were answered. CoolIt Systems will also be participating later this week at the Hi Tech Legion forums where they will answer questions and concerns. Always wondered why and how? Now is your chance to find out. Join us as we go deep into self contained water cooling and more."
