The dual band WNDA3100 USB Wireless LAN adapter from NETGEAR has the ability to connect to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks. It features a multicolored LED, which lights up differently depending on its status, so we will know on what type of network we are connected, without checking up the software application.

It's nice to see the C300 from Crucial is on the cutting edge of performance and technology.  They use their own NAND and RAM in this unit, combine it with a great SATA 6Gbps capable controller from Marvell and let the good times roll.  It has blistering read speeds and while the write speeds aren't the fastest on the planet when it comes to consecutive writes, the random 4K writes are really fast and this drive maintains great performance levels across all file sizes. . .

"The ATI Radeon HD 5570 512MB GDDR5 has gotten that same upgrade. The Radeon HD 5570 comes equipped with DDR5 memory rather than DDR3 and keeps all its other same baseline specifications as well as price tag. The 5570 is supposed to remain the sub $100 budget friendly video card that can be used by both casual gamers and mainstream users that want to take advantage of ATI Stream as well as Eyefinity and DX11. There are 512MB as well as 1GB versions available. I will be reviewing the 512MB version of the new 5570."

GIGABYTE has grown a lot in the market lately. They mainly produce top-notch quality motherboards and GPUs, and they have even entered new areas as well. We couldn't say they had a specific motherboard for each user until they finally released their Mini-ITX H55N-USB3 motherboard. Last year, Mini-ITX motherboards meant low CPU-performance. But in 2010, things have changed and now you can build a very small PC with great performance and good efficiency. Benchmark Reviews tests the GIGABYTE H55N-USB3 motherboard paired with an Intel Core i3 530 processor and 4GB of RAM to check which kind of performance we can expect from a Mini-ITX HTPC system like this one.

"USB 2.0 and Firewire have been around for quiet some time but there is always the need for faster data transfers. We recently looked at what the new USB 3.0 interface can do and it's no joke. The eSATA interface is supposed to be faster than USB 2.0 with a maximum of 6 Gbps data transfer rate and it comes very close to the speeds of USB 3.0."

"For the average user, the humble mousepad is of little concern with any old advertising freebie doing the job. At gaming level though, the mat becomes much more significant: tracking and precision are key and so a high quality mousepad becomes vital.

Speedlink already have an extension range of pads in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes but the Repute is designed specifically for gamers. Let's take a look in more detail."

Exciting things are afoot in wireless networking. Based on the work of the WiGig Alliance, Atheros and Wilocity plan to make devices that use 60GHz wireless technology not just for ultra-high-speed networking, but also for wireless PCI Express connectivity. Possible applications include, believe it or not, external graphics processors connected wirelessly to the host PC.

GeForce GTX 460 – nVidia’s $200 Gift to Mainstream Gamers

I remember a GPU called the 6600GT that offered so much bang for the buck that no one was able to follow at such an aggressive price point. I remember it well because it was the first GPU that I ever bought that made me feel like somebody out there actually wanted me to play my games without having to spend a small fortune. It allowed me to play my favourite games at reasonable frame rates and at decent resolutions, but most importantly left me enough cash to buy more games. For most of today’s mainstream gamers, that sort gift hasn’t come from nVidia in quite some time, but this week everything changed as the GeForce GTX 460 was announced to the world.

Fans come in all different shapes and sizes, and what started as a pretty common design quickly transformed into a technical art used to create specialized fans for special purposes. Some fans are designed to cool heatsinks and direct airflow over a certain area, while others might be simple case fans designed to move massive amounts of air.

"When giving praise, it is usually a good practice to provide some criticism to give boths sides of the fence. The GTX 460 performed amazingly and the only real con that comes to mind is the fact that the error correction feature makes it harder, but not impossible, to overclock the memory. To do so properly, memory intensive benchmarks must be run until the drop-off point is found performance-wise."
