" Over the past few years, we have seen a myriad of new coolers in our lab here at HardwareLogic and time and again, Thermaltake has proven themselves very capably of making a great product. Today we take a look at Thermaltake's latest offering, the Frio. Does this cooler continue Thermaltake's trend of creating great coolers, or will this just be a forgotten chapter in cooling history? Read on as we put the Frio through it's paces and see if it lives up to its name. "

"The N4100PRO can be had at a street price of around $379, which is certainly more reasonable than the other units, but units such as the Synology DS408 come with a more powerful processor and double the memory for roughly $120 more. The N4100PRO is a solid unit with features to match or exceed others out there on the market at a good price, just don't expect it to set any land speed records with its data transfer rates, which I think is the real killer here."

Every time that you buy a new MP3 player or some other similar device, you usually get a “free” set of bundled headphones. The bad news is that these are usually anything but stellar, leaving you to invest in a set of premium earphones on your own. One of the newer offerings in this realm of premium headphones is the Creative Aurvana In-Ear2. This set follows up on the original Aurvana In-Ear headphones, which actually won a few awards in the past. Let’s fast forward to the future and see if this new revision holds true to its heritage.

The AMD 880G Northbridge and SB850 Southbridge are two of the latest bits of chipset silicon designed to bolster AMD's position in the mainstream PC market. They were released about a month apart this Spring, as part of a full line of 800-series chips, and ASUS wasted no time putting them into production. Key items that help make the M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 motherboard stand out are native support for SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, and AMD's latest game changer, the Phenom II X6 CPU. With both Core Unlocker and Turbo Unlocker functionality built right into the board, this combination could be the magic ticket to dynamic-clocked, quad core processing on the cheap. Benchmark Reviews is pleased to review one of the latest ASUS motherboards, using the latest entries from AMD's new 800-series chipset.

"There is nothing timid about the Cooler Master V6 GT in design or cooling capabilities. The Cooler Master V6 GT may not have the quirks of Roth's work, but it certainly has the styling of dead on American Muscle, in this case Muscle Cooling. Two 120mm fans capable of 2200 rpm move air through a nickel plated fin array with six 6mm heatpipes in a V formation. A switch designed to resemble an oil cap from the era when chrome valve covers ruled sits on top, acting as a color changing LED switch. The top and side shrouds of the Cooler Master V6 GT are cut and molded with angular aerodynamics. One look tells you right away, the Cooler Master V6 GT was not meant to be only driven slowly to church on Sundays."

"At first I was very skeptical about the Frio. Having had a few Thermaltake products before and being left slightly unimpressed by them I hoped the Frio wouldn't be the same. To my delight and surprise this particular cooler turned out to be a monster. With 2 included fans and build quality to rival even the best cooling solution manufacturers, the Frio is easily one of the top air coolers to consider out there today which is no easy feat to say the least!"

"The intense competition in the cell phone industry has manufacturers constantly adding new features. This wealth of features may make phones a little smarter, but it often makes them more complex to use. So in this atmosphere of competition and increased functionality, it is refreshing to see a cell phone that chucks the "smart" features to focus on basic features and ease-of-use. The Jitterbug cell phone is just that: a simple phone that is easy to use."

"NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 768MB is quite a success, considering the recommended price. It outperforms the cheaper AMD Radeon HD 5770 and performs on a par with (and in some tests outperforms) the similarly priced AMD Radeon HD 5830. Fast tesselation, the advantage of the Fermi architecture, remains in this product as well."

After charging, I used them in every AA device I had. I tested them in everything from a cordless beard trimmer to a flashlight. They lasted about 2 hours in trimmer, which isn’t too bad as the trimmer eats batteries. Next I tried them in my AA mini-Maglite, but they would not fit as the cap is too large. . .

"When anti aliasing is enabled in the control panels of each respective manufacturer, only the Nvidia cards showed a difference in frame rate or visual quality. The HD 5830 did not show a difference in frame rate when Anti aliasing was enabled showing that AA is not enabled for ATI cards at this time. At this point, it looks like only Nvidia has this option available to the gamer. When enabled, the GTX 460 still has the muscle to deliver acceptable frame rates in the resolutions that gamers at this price point play in, namely 1920x1200 and below."

"All the video cards tested produce more than acceptable frame rates at both resolutions; the ATI versions could only be ran using in game settings. The NVIDIA versions via the NVIDIA control panel have the ability to force Antialiasing (AA) and Ansitropic Filtering (AF), being able to manipulate AA and AF increases “Eyecandy” which smoothes, enhances image quality and filters the overlay of the video being rendered."

Self-contained, low-maintenance all-in-one liquid CPU cooling systems are quite popular these days, especially among system integrators. What makes them popular is that they don’t require one to have a master’s degree, or any experience at all in liquid cooling physics to enjoy near silent computing. All one needs is the aptitude to work a Philips screw driver and a little dexterity. CoolIT System’s Vantage A.L.C. (Advanced Liquid Cooling) is the latest self-contained compact cooling innovation. Let’s see if that same early innovations we saw at CES 2010 offer real world benefits and performance today!
