Some of you may not know it, because they are a little less known in the US, but Adata is the second largest manufacture of ram in the world. Because of that, when I went to visit their suite I was really curious what they had up their sleeves. As a manufacture of SSD’s Memory, and other flash products I wasn’t sure if they would be showing off new variations of the same old thing, or something new altogether. It ended up being something new altogether.

Adata took us around their suite and showed off a couple products including new NGFF SSD drives that intel is using on their latest ultrabooks to keep the size down. NGFF is Intels new standard to hopefully push everyone to use one standard format with small form factor products like the ultrabooks, up until now its been a free for all.
The main focus of our tour was on two new products from the same line, the DashDrive Air Ae800 and AE400. Both function as a small wireless router and battery backup for your phone. On top of that they both have apps available and give you access to files from any of the devices you connect to it wirelessly. This is where the two models differ. The AE400 uses SD cards for storage and the AE800 has a 500 gig hard drive built inside. This obviously makes a big difference in their size as well. The idea behind both devices is something to make traveling easier. People seem to have more and more mobile devices that require internet on the go and sometimes a recharge for their battery. Nowhere is this more obvious to us than CES, while doing my tour I wished I had either of these back at our hotel where we were using a USB hard drive, a phone hotspot, and an ad hoc network along with three power forts to keep us going.
They also showed off the SE900, a thunderbolt portable SSD.
