The RADEON HD 5830 comes to fill in the gap between the best-buy 5770 and the 5850; it features dual 6-pin PCI-Express power connectors and has about the same performance as the 4890 in DirectX 10 games. The XFX model comes with a custom made heatsink that sports 5 heatpipes, meant to cool the card better than the stock solution.

"The Saitek Cyborg V.7 keyboard is a quality example of everything a gamer needs. Keeping this in mind, the Saitek Cyborg keyboard brings many great ideas together. Being a gamer you tend to notice the wear and tear we put our devices through. Saitek solves for this by including metal plated key caps in the high traffic areas: WASD, arrow keys and the spacebar."

Today NVIDIA releases their new GeForce GTX 465. The cards are based on the same GF100 Fermi GPU as the GTX 470 and GTX 480. In order to create this $279 product, NVIDIA has disabled a large number of units inside the GF100. Did they do it right? What about power consumption and heat?

"SIM is able to control so much and having the ability to monitor up to four individual temps makes it a very useful tool to any enthusiast. So it didn't quite hold up to the competition in the performance department but it did hold most of them off in the feature department. The only thing I could say that disappointed me was the lack of a heat sink hole in the motherboard tray which makes it convenient to swap bracketed heat sinks and water blocks without having to remove the motherboard."

Think that gaming across three or more displays delivers little more than a larger game? Not true, as the wider the resolution, the more of the game you see. Not only can multi-display gaming increase the immersion level, but it can even give you a competitive advantage online. Yes, we have many examples to help prove our point.

"For smaller amount of files one can use very cheap thumb drives or DVDs, but for most an external hard drive is a good choice. For added security and also extra functionality it's often nice for the drive to be connected to the home network. This is where the Western Digital My Book World Edition II comes into picture."

Once again I am impressed by speakers from Eagle Tech. The ET-AR506-BK 2.1 Soundstage Speakers with Dual Subwoofers might be a mouthful but the speakers offer exceptional sound at a great price. The volume control with a headphone jack makes it ideal for desk use and the black with orange highlights make it an attractive package.

Last month, I wrote a piece on how to build the perfect notebook cooler for Futurelooks. Unfortunately, it seems like the product designers at Antec’s California studio didn’t have an opportunity to read it before they produced the Antec Notebook Cooler Designer. Though their latest laptop cooling stand certainly boasts a few desirable features, it falls short in other areas. Let’s have a look at what it has to offer and how it stacks up against other suitable alternatives.
