What is Tropico? With Fidel Castro on the cover, it's always looked interesting, but i've never looked into it...

It is basically a Sim City like city building game but on a Tropical Island that seems to be modeled from 1950's Cuba. It is a fun game to kill some time if you like city builders since there is a lot to do in it and it is a pretty open ended sandbox time of game.

Tropico one pinned you as a dictator running an island nation (similar to cuba). You have to create an industry, provide housing for your citz, make them happy, etc. Tropico 2 was similar but in pirate guise. Tropico 3 is essentially Tropico 1, but in 3d. It's a pretty decent 3d execution, one of the few I've liked. I've spent a few hours on all of the games, and they're not bad, a good way to waste some hours if you like city builders, but they're not amazing, either. Each I'd give an 8-8.5, probably. Worth playing, but worth missing as well.

Game also has a nice soundtrack to it with a lot of Latin-style Dominican music which brings great vibe to your banana republic.
