MW2 DLC 10% off was created by technobear

ok so its not so hot of a deal but this is the first ive seen the DLC offered at all on steam. If youre planning to get the DLC you might as well go ahead and get this deal.. ill decide tonight if im gona get it or wait.

I still can't believe they release 75% of a game, and then sell the remaining 25% a few months later and get away with it. I know BC2 just had an extra map-pack come out. It was on sale for $0.00! I picked it right up! Not sure if that was their original plan, of if they felt the owed it to people from the server issues they had when the game came out. Either way, i didn't have to shell out more money for maps that should've been included in the original game!

Developers have off and on been releasing games with DLC either on the disc (and you buy a code that unlocks it), or they don't release it at time of release, and then release it later. When it comes to free DLC, Burnout Paradise is the best I have seen (great game btw). Anyway, wasn't this the $15 map pack for MW2?

AMEN! I wonder how their sales have been lately? are people still buying the game, or does Steam just keep putting money into the game because it's a staple when it comes to FPS's? I know i buy everything through steam because TF2 got me hooked on it. Maybe it's just such a good marketing thing, plus they really don't have to spend money on hosting servers since there are soo many clans/groups that have public ones for people to play on...

Guess I didn't even think about TF2. They have been really good about DLC, I probably didn't even think of it because they are so often just universal updates that happen automatically. They do have a good deal with not having to host servers, and since TF2 is probably one of the main bringers of people to Steam, they use the revenue from that. Whatever they are doing, Value is making money somehow, despite having prices and deals like a crazy car dealer. And, as long as there are people on this earth, there are people to buy TF2. Everyone can play it, everyone can and should buy it.

Did I misunderstand, or did you guys just recently get into the Steam Beta? Or is it finally out of Beta? Either way, I got into it before, and it is amazing. I have not had any crashes and issues, runs smooth and has great features. Just goes to show, the previous build was junk and out of date, likely crashed most from IE building in. Now that they are using Webkit, it should honestly be available for Mac right now (but I saw it's just Beta or something so far). If Linux gets it the same way, I would consider running just Linux on my laptop.

I avoid beta's when I can, just because I don't like dealing with buggy software. I did install it a while back after everyone talked me into it, but it wasn't long after when it asked me to go back to the original. After that I didn't give it any thought, I figured I would wait it out considering the issues I saw when using it. But went back to it again the other day

I've said it before. We build pc's that sometimes cost 2-5k but freak out about the money we spend on the games that we play on it.

Yeah, I never understood that. It's like buying a great car and hesitating to buy gasoline. You can't show it off or experience it without spending some money.

As for Betas, I can agree, but I figured Steam acted up enough, it couldn't be much worse. Plus, Adam talked me up to it I think.

And, legit question, do people play often on map pack maps? I've never played games where I bought extra map packs, so I didn't know how well players support them (I obviously don't tend to). Also, are the maps in this pack any good? Or different?

Agreed, and most of the time (after enough time) they are. Given a few months, maybe a year, this MW2 map pack will likely be free, or packaged in with newer copies for the same price. Just like CoD4

PC gamers wouldn't get the full map pack? It's risking to bring the PC game experience down equal to consoles, but to cut it lower would be insanity.

Lol I just realized, if this map pack was packaged with a heatsink or fan, more PC gamers would probably pick it up.

Expansion packs use to be the big thing, but now online-distribution has made it cheaper to just sell it as DLC instead of shipping out packages. Anyway, what all is in this pack for MW2?
