Good article, but pretty obvious considering HD Steaming is intensive. Netflix use to say recommended 4.0 meg connection.

This is from their support site:

Internet Connection Speed Recommendations

Below are the internet speed requirements and recommendations for playing movies and TV shows on the Netflix website./p>

*Note: Internet speeds listed represent Download speeds.

0.5 Megabits per second - Required broadband connection speed
1.5 Megabits per second - Recommended broadband connection speed
3.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for DVD quality
5.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for HD quality
7.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for Super HD quality
12 Megabits per second - Recommended for 3D quality

Can't find a decent source for how much gaming takes up. New games obviously take up much more than a few years ago, as you can't find a game that says it can run on Dial-Up. Wait what is Dial-Up those words echo a faint member in my cob web filled head... :silly:

gaming bandwidth depends a lot on the game itself, its more ping than anything else normally. Video streaming is transferring a LOT more

I think I remember a post like this about Youtube years ago. I still have some Dial up access from that era.
