My external hardrive is all screwed up so I have to re-format it, means I lose all 930 gb of stuff on it. Guess I have to start over. :( atleast some of the stuff is on the oc server so I can get it at a lan.

That is why you have backups of stuff. Not here to preach to the choir but that is why I built my server, everything is backed up.

What kind of brand was it? Interested, I use both Seagate and WD.

it's a fantom drive. Sadly I don't have the resources to back up a terabit hardrive, your welcome to buy me a server and whatnot to back it up next time. ;)

www.carbonite.com

PWND. $5 a month for unlimited backup storage. The drives have to be internal though.

I don't blame you at all. Not everything I have it redundant, but the important stuff is.

You could always pull the drive out of your current external and drop it into a NAS box like this. The transfer speeds would be considerably better and when you get the money you could drop a 2nd drive in it to add redundancy

Interestingly enough.... I just bought a 1.5TB Seagate external for $60 at Walmart.... I am using it to back up my server, so when I rebuild it this summer, it will be ready to go!

For awhile we had a bunch of 1.5TB externals left over from black friday for I think 78.00 at our Wal Mart. Not sure if we still have any. I just don't think people knew what it was. I remember trying to explain a terrabyte to a few people, they just didn't understand.
