So i picked up modern warfare2 for the 360 today and I know a lot of you guys picked up pc and 360 versions also. What does everyone think?

i went to the midnight release at gamestop, though i didn't have the moneys to pick it up. :(

a lot of people. A LOT. and from what i saw from the gameplay at the release (they put a copy in around 9 that night) it looked pretty good.

I got the 360 version, but was so blown away by the multiplayer that I broke down and bought the pc version, too. >_<

Screw my life.

On the plus side, I've had no issues really so far with iwnet. The occasional lag spike happens, but all in all it's not horrible. As far as the gameplay, it's so addictive that I just went from level 1-19 without getting out of my chair.

Oh, and the single-player is mind-blowing.

Yeah, it would just be a private match. It's not specifically called LAN, but that's what it would be, since it's all peer to peer. Theoretically, you shouldn't even need the internet, but I'm not sure about that.

Let's say I'm at a huge lan where I don't know anyone. Would I be able to see that a local game is running and join it? Or am I going to had to ask around til someone friends me up, I see they're in a game, and follow them in?

You have to follow them into or be invited to the game, yes. There's no server browser of any sort.

L4D's system does indeed suck, but wes is wright, when at a lan party whether or not I have the people friended I can see local LAN servers in the friends section at the bottom left.

Additonally, its not "just like l4d" considering I can open up a console and type openserverbrowser and navigate the lan servers manually.

Also, steam's server list has all the servers on it including L4D. So yeah... lanplay is going to be annoying for MW2 :(

It won't be a problem for those of us who often lan together, but for going to a new lan it will probably be a pain in the ass.

I didn't even know you could use a server browser with Left 4 Dead, cool. I always just join games through Steam friends, haven't had any problems. Guess I've never played it at a lan where I didn't know anyone, though.

Still haven't bought this piece of junk... I haven't even pirated it yet. And you know what? I feel pretty meh about it.

Haven't seen any solid evidence to sway me in another direction. I think one of my buddies has it now, I'll have to check it out at his place.
