Hey guys. I recently came across a Geforce 210 w/512 MB.

Do you think its worth my time to replace my 9400GT with the 210?

The rest of my specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400
6GB DDR2
Win7 Ult. 64bit
1.1TB (Currently split between 4 HDD)

Really think both are bad decisions and I think the 210 is just a rebranded 9 series of something anyways with a slightly higher clock speed but nothing in the improvement department. I would save a little more and look at something a more mid-high end range like at 260 or 280 if you wanted to stay in the 200 series range.

I agree, its not a card I would recommend. But if I had to pick I would go with the 210 for the much lower power consumption.

I didnt have to pay for either card. They both were pulls from systems getting upgrades. Ive been using the 9400GT for a few months. Its a low profile, EVGA unit as it is.

The 210 I got in works as well. I was mainly curious if it would be worth my time to shut down my machine, take off the side, replace the card.... etc.

Im ACTUALLY waiting for someone to come into the shop and insist their machine is dead (even though its not) with the following specs:
Core i7 980X
EVGA X58 Classified
6GB DDR3
2TB Hdd
128GB SSD
2xGeForce GTX 470

Just dont insist its dead, and you will be fine!

I actually had a customer insist his screen was shot, and it wasnt. He would not listen to me, or even come over to my bench to see it working. Long story short, he bought a new screen, and I got to take his old one home with me, where it sits on my desk working perfectly fine for the last year!

As much as like like to fiddle with computers, I don't think I could deal with stupid people who think they know better than you, every day.

Well since it is a low profile setup I guess it wouldn't be that bad but the bandwidth on the 210 is at 64-bit while the 9400 is at 128-bit. Just something to keep in mind unless you aren't planing on playing games and just need a graphics card.

My build is not low profile, but the card is. My rig is built into an antec 900.
I guess since I plan on playing games... ill just leave the 9400 in place, and wait until i can get a substantially better card.
