So I'm looking for potential upgrades for my old pc. I've been using this one for quite awhile and I would much like to upgrade in the near future. To be honest its more like I needed to about a year ago but just never got the money around for it. So I have a budget in mind, but I'm rather flexible there. I know I won't be using any of the Fancy SSD or blue ray players, just an average pc to play games as well as all the other stuff I use my pc for. I'm thinking dual core, I know I'm probably gonna stick with AMD, I like AMD. So here is what I've been thinking for the major parts.

Vid Card

The other Thought is that I build myself a kinda SFF pc, I already have a version of the case listed below. It would require a different Motherboard, but still keep the same RAM, vid card and CPU from the list above. The PSU has to be modular to save room inside and through some review reading and research else where I've learned that the Heatsink if used in the right way can be effective.

Give me suggestions, criticism, and all the advice. Let me know if you think the SFF would be running too hot or be to loud to warrant such a build. I know a few ppl who would say it was both so it is a waste of time, but I'm just stubborn. :)

I thought I responded to this post before. Sorry for the delay!

I love seeing someone else interested in the Small Form factor builds.

If you have the funds I would still recomend going to a quad core. Of course the difference in cost between your dual core and a good quad core is fairly big, I wouldn't blame you for sticking with it.

The PSU you picked out isn't something I would recomend. I have seen people have problems with them in the past. I could stick with the standard Corsair, PC power, Cooler Master (some), and seasonic.

A couple examples of PSU's i would recomend around the same size and power

If you are looking for great reviews on power supplys check out Jonnyguru.com a friend of mine Jon runs it and does amazing work. You will also notice that newegg points out that the cooler master is recommended by them.

I would also recommend looking at noctua for cooler. Another possibility would be both cool-it's eco water cooling or corsairs H50 and H70

Anyhow, post up where you are at on the build. I would love to help you more on it!!

Another vote for Corsair.
If you have extra money to put into the GPU, you might consider a GTX460 1gb. They are the current sweet spot for price performance.
