I'm still trying to figure out 2007 and hanging out to 2003! I took a college class on Office 2007 and it's cool, but it's just soo different from what i grew up with and knew for so long that it's hard to get used to.

OpenOffice.org (3.2 now). I don't know of anything Office does that I can't do with OOo so I gave up trying to learn 2007, it's just not productive. I've not heard of any companies jumping up and down, saying that the new Office UI lets them do everything faster. So I'll stick with my free, customizable, open-source, internationally-supported OOo. B)

OOO is great if you dont have existing documents that you need to preserve formatting on. If i didnt have access to MS Office id use it for sure..

Most every 'office/cubicle' company has a requirement for candidates to be familiar and proficient with the latest MSO suite. That being said, I don't think one would turn down hiring you just because you're not.. but yes, most companies have moved to Office 2007.

2007's ribbon layout was very helpful for me once I adjusted to it

once people quit thining about where things are supposed to be.. and start thinking about what they NEED to do.. the ribon layout is very intuitive..

In 2010 theyve kept it.. sort of.. they did get rid of the big button in favor of a file ribbon..

the file ribbon has a lot more information than I expected. Its great

It even shows you how long you have spend editing the document!
