I know alot of people use these drives for back up which makes this all the more important. Intellipark seems to be too aggressive and is shortening drive life cycles. There is a fix out today so I thought to get the word out where ever I could.

I have this drive, not that old, running Windows 7 Pro on it and I haven't noticed issues. Do you think I should go through the listed instructions to change the drive settings?

I am going to have to do this to my 2 1tb green drives. I think I am going to have to go blue or black when I get my next drive.

I was looking at this again, and they updated to say that Caviar Black HDDs can be affected too. I was looking into additional drives to get, and this makes me rethink getting a Black edition.
