It's long been rumoured since purchase that graphics cards wearing the ATI moniker were only going to be around so long. With AMD's pipeline rapidly advancing towards Fusion (hybrid GPU/CPU on a chip), AMD decided it was time to drop the ATI moniker. It's certainly debatable for many reasons on whether this was a good call or not. AMD is trying to keep ATI's brand familiarity alive by continuing the product line names, ie Radeon, FirePro, etc.

Infineon, who makes baseband chips in most major phones created worldwide, as well as the beloved-Ipad, has had one of their divisions acquired by chip maker, and market monopolist Intel. Intel cites its desire to speed up the rollout of 4g/LTE as the main driver behind the acquisition. It is assuring the SEC, and eyebrows everywhere that this subsidiary will continue to operate as a 'standalone business'.

(AMD) ATI's Southern Islands GPUs were slated to release in Q4 of this year, but because of some manufacturing issues, it was rumored they would not be getting a die shrink from the current 40nm process the 5k series was built on. These images, obtained from a Taiwanese forum, might give some details of what's upcoming.
The performance difference over the 5870 seems mild, with an increase in 3dMark still falling a little short of what the 5970 is getting, albeit outperforming every other gpu. There's no gaurantee on whether this is a 6850 or 6870, or even if it's 100% legit, but in a few more weeks, more details should emerge. The Memory Bandwidth is listed at 204.8 GB/s, and for reference, a GTX480 is 177.5.
Although it would be wonderful if something more meaningful than 3dMark was provided, immature drivers might not provide an accurate representation of performance at this point either.

News aggregate Digg recently redesigned their website, adding personalization options and the ability for companies to automatically submit feeds/articles, becoming a little more Twitter-esque. Lastly, it removed the ability to "Bury" links/articles that a user didn't like, shortened summaries about feeds, and made it harder to distinguish which posts are adverts. Many users voiced their disgust for the redesign, and have complained that Digg went "Corporate." Furthermore, they joined competitor Reddit, and collaboratively uprated Reddit's stories on Digg's pages, such that Digg's front page is almost redirecting every link to Reddit's website.
Reddit's gotten a kick out of the added support, and even redesigned their logo to look more like Digg's given the current scenario.

Adding up the clients listed
Utorrent 29.41%
BitTorrent 5.28%
Vuze 4.37%
Bitcomet 2.44%
for a total of 41.50% of steam users using bit torrent programs. What does that mean? It means that even though you have people who have access to free, illegal copys of software, videos, ect. They are still buying games using the steam client. Is this because of the ease of use? Increased piracy protection? Steam sales and sometimes better pricing? Its hard to say, but I would like to think that most people will buy a game if its the right price and easy to get. Steam does both of these things! What do you guys think?
