Gigabyte P55-UD6 / P55-UD6 and MSI P55-GD80

Almost two weeks after the official release of the Core i5 platform, we review three LGA1156 motherboards. We put the Gigabyte P55-UD3 and UD6 through the same batch of tests as the MSI P55-GD80 and check who comes out on top. Next to that we have some surprising results for those who want to use Turbo mode and also have a look at the extreme overclocking capabilities of both high-end motherboards.

Review of Hauppauge WinTV-MiniStick HD TV-tuner

altThe WinTV-MiniStick HD offers good image and sound quality both in TDT and TDT HD. I love the fact that WinTV7 uses the graphics card to diminish the load on the CPU. I am also very impressed by the included software, especially by how easy it is to operate. The WinTV-MiniStick HD goes for around 50€ here in Europe and isn’t currently available in the US as far as I know. This price is really good in my opinion. To be honest, I really expected the WinTV-MiniStick HD to be nothing short of exceptional and I wasn’t disapointed…

Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ 120Hz Gaming LCD Monitor Review @ Tweaknews

altTill now, most monitor releases have been carbon copy releases of technology that has been out for over three years. An image quality tweak here, a design tweak there was all the consumer could expect. But this monitor is different in a big way. The technology difference contained within this rather standard monitor screams out loud in a crowd of your average everyday LCD computer monitor. No longer does the gamer have to settle in order to enjoy their games and no longer do they have to wait. The 120hz technology is here and I hope it is here to stay.

Intel i5-750 Socket 1156 Lynnfield Processor Review @ Tweaknews

altIntel knows that most people will spring for the cheaper Lynnfield in most cases and enjoy a big upgrade for little money. It's hard to really point out anything wrong with this processor. It's cheap, its performance for the dollar is unrivaled in the industry and at last allows the consumer to upgrade above a socket 775 system without having to re-mortgage the house.

Patriot Memory Corza 2-Drive NAS Enclosure

altPatriot Memory has recently released their first NAS device; the Corza 2-Drive NAS enclosure. This device is designed to use two SATA drives in either a RAID 0, RAID 1, or Linear (aka JBOD) configuration. While two SATA drives doesn't sound like much, the Corza can provide up to 4TB of storage space based on currently available drives.

Samsung LN46B640 46? 1080p LCD HDTV Review at CCE Reviews

I’ve been asked by many friends if the 2008 models currently on sale are a good buy and my answer is: it depends. If you’re looking for a basic TV and only plan on watching Cable/Digital TV with the occasional movie in between go for what’s on sale as you’ll be happy with it. However, the B640 offers so much more. If you plan on watching more than just the odd HD movie or will be centering your entertainment system around a new TV then seriously consider the B640 as the baseline for comparison.

Intel DP55KG P55 LGA1156 Motherboard Review @ BmR

altBenchmark Reviews had the opportunity to review and launch two new Lynnfield processors from Intel: the Core i5-750 and the Core i7-870. While these were the stars of the launch, it wouldn't be a complete platform without the motherboard. Released in parallel with the two processors, is the Intel P55 Express Chipset. In this review, we'll examine the new chipset in detail and take a closer look at Intel's flagship DP55KG Extreme Series Motherboard.

CoolerMaster Storm Sentinel Advance High-Performance Gaming Mouse Review

altFirst person shooters are extremely popular and are featured in most of the professional gaming competitions as well as being the main staple at LAN parties. In FPS no peripheral is more important than the mouse. The mouse controls where you look, aim, and fire, which is the main point of the FPS. So what gives one player the advantage over another? There are numerous answers to that question, but since this is a mouse review, let us pretend that everything is equal except the mice. Having a mouse that is very sensitive cuts down on your reaction time and help increase your score in battle.

Review of Gigabyte HD 4850 Silent Cell 1GB graphics card

This Gigabyte card is one of the more spectacular ones we have tested. I am of course referring to the passive cooling solution which is very different from the reference cooler. In my opinion this Gigabyte card offers a good performance/price ratio and has extra potential with its overclocking abilities. But what it really comes down to is that it offers us gamers a really good performance and still, we don’t have to listen to an annoying fan struggling to cool the card. The Ultra Durable VGA system from Gigabyte wasn’t really anything I noticed, but it feels safe that this technology should prolong the life of the card...

TechwareLabs Reviews the Athlon II X4 620 and Athlon II X4 630

Built with the same great architecture as the Phenom II X4, Athlon II X4 represents real value at $99 for the 2.6GHz X4 620 model and $122 for the 2.8GHz 630. When an Athlon II X4 processor is combined with a sub-$100 motherboard featuring our 785G chipset, you have a perfect example of AMD's new mainstream desktop platform for Windows 7.
