With the newer Smartphone’s like the BlackBerry Storm and the iPhone they have so many uses you want to keep an eye on them all of the time. When you’re sitting at your desk half the day (or half of the night in my case) it would be great to be able to keep an eye on your phone. Luxa2, a Thermaltake company introduced a product with this issue in mind called the H1-Touch. With this being our first look at a Luxa2 product I am excited to see what they have to offer!

Packaging
The H1-Touch’s packaging basically sums up the idea of Luxa2 and the H1-Touch, simple and elegant. The front of the packaging is mostly made up of a plastic window giving you a good view of the H1-Touch. Keeping with the simple theme the only important information you will find on the rest of the packaging is to check their website for more information.
Setup
Setting up the H1-Touch is fairly simple as long as the phone or MP3 player fit it. According to their website the iPhone and iPod are the only compatible devices. It was clear right away that a lot of other popular phones will also fit. I put it to the test with my BlackBerry Storm that is a little larger than the iPhone. Of course I wasn’t surprised at all when it fit perfectly. Installing it was as easy as spreading the clamps out, sitting the phone down and then adjusting the camps back down again. I don’t think the H1-Touch would have any problem holding any phone on the market, although the phones that aren’t very wide may sit loose.
Performance
With my phone sitting on the H1-Touch I was surprised with the adjustability. You can spin your phone to any angle and adjust the viewing angle to anything you would like. In fact the H1-Touch is designed to let you flip your phone over to show soothing to someone across your desk. The flip action works great although I doubt many people will put this feature to much use. Personally I found the H1-Touch most useful in making my phone a easily seen clock on my desk. I was also able to plug my charger in while its sitting there, the 6 hold down clamps are fairly small and out of the way.
Overall
So when I received the H1-Touch I wasn’t really sure how useful it would be. After using it for a few weeks I was shocked at how much I really did use it. The adjustable clamps are easy to use and give you the ability to hold almost any phone with or without a case on it. My only complaint would be the price, at just under $50 it’s priced above most available charging docks that will so a similar job (maybe not with the same style though). The design of the H1-Touch is elegant and simple, a great first impression of the Luxa2 brand. I can’t wait to see what comes from them in the future.
