Packaging

While they may have changed things up in the keyboards design, the Blackwidow X didn’t really change things much as far as packaging goes. The box has the same signature flat black look with Razer green for trim. The cover though does have a large photo of the keyboard with its backlighting turned on. The keyboards name is down in the bottom left corner and they have a Razer 3 headed snake logo up in the top right. There is also window that gives you access to the direction pad as well so people can get a feel for the switches in the store. It’s weird though that the picture of the keyboard wasn’t closer to life sized to match the exposed keys though. The back of the box is surprisingly clear of all of the normal marketing jargon, there are three semitransparent pictures that show the keyboards main features and that’s about it.

Inside the box they did change things up though. The documentation that comes with every Razer product is tucked away up on the underside of the top. Then from there the keyboard comes with a plastic cover on it with the exception of the direction pad for the front window. There is foam on each end keeping everything from moving around then cardboard on the front and back. The keyboards cord is wrapped up and tucked away inside of the back cardboard.
