Packaging
Well with the Infinity being a DIY kit I wasn’t expecting too much for its packaging. The Massdrop ErgoDox did have a nice little box that everything came in though. This time around the box was shipping in a standard Massdrop box and then inside were all of the bags with all of the small parts, a box for the case, the PCB in a bag, and the plate in its own bubble wrap. In other words there wasn’t anything special here like with the ErgoDox. For the first drop they did however print up nice cards thanking people for their involvement and talk a little about the kit.
To keep the PCB safe from any static discharge it does come in a static protective bag.
The backplate comes wrapped up in way more than what is needed and taped multiple times to keep it all together. There should be no excuse for it coming in with any damage.
For key switches you get a bag with enough switches to build everything as well as a few extras just in case there is a problem.
Then of course we have the USB cord. They include the same cord that we saw with the ErgoDox. It is just long enough to be able to get plugged in assuming you have your PC on your desk, you might as well pick up a longer cord right away if you want any room to move the keyboard around though.
The Infinity comes with a set of black PBT Signature Plastic’s DSA keycaps as well although in our testing I used something else but I will cover that later.
Here is the small baggy with our Costar style stabilizers.
The Tex semitransparent case that Massdrop sent with our original sample came boxed up in its own box. Inside the case is well protected with foam and was wrapped up in a plastic bag as well. Tex also includes a small baggie with the rubber feet for the case as well.
