Overall and FV

After sending time with the G502 I can now see why Logitech changed things up and gave the G502 a name. The G502 is a special mouse that will most likely set the tone for Logitech mice years to come. Given its amazing performance in basically every aspect I can’t really be upset about that either. The new Pixart 3366 sensor is basically flawless from what I can tell. Logitech’s Gaming Software is still amazing, as it always. Having it work with all of your Logitech devices is a great reason invest even more in their ecosystem. The G502 is comfortable and I was very impressed with the button placement, I could reach all of the macro keys without any trouble, considering how many buttons they packed in that is especially impressive. I’m a big fan of the new scroll wheel design as well, it works perfectly and avoids collecting dirt unlike most rubber wheel designs. The only complaint I have on the G502 at all is the new braiding on the cable, it seems to catch on things a little more than before. If that is my biggest complaint, it really goes to show you how good of a mouse the G502 is. I hope they take this same design and bring out a G702 wireless version.

You might call him obsessed or just a hardcore geek. Wes's obsession with gaming hardware and gadgets isn't anything new, he could be found taking things apart even as a child. When not poking around in PC's he can be found playing League of Legends, Awesomenauts, or Civilization 5 or watching a wide variety of TV shows and Movies. A car guy at heart, the same things that draw him into tweaking cars apply when building good looking fast computers. Wanted to add some thoughts to this as I have been using this mouse for the last month. The mouse is great for gaming and my current mouse of choice. Your review is spot on but I wanted to add to it, specifically the part about the free movement of the scroll when.

The feature is very cool and I like it, well not at first. You see the wheel is VERY free moving. So much so that you often over scroll or accidently scroll back when you finish scrolling. This is not the course scroll system of other mice it takes a bit of control.

Logitech did realize that some people would not like this option so they added a click button that engages a ratchet feature to the scroll wheel like most other mice used. The issue is the ratchet has a cheap feel to it and is way to overdone for my tastes. If Logitech would lighten it up a bit I would be happier.

Overall still a great gaming mouse.

Sounds pretty similar to the infinite scroll feature they have had on a number of mice of the last few years. My Performance MX has that too. Infinite scroll, and click and do the draggy scroll deal. I prefer the infinite.
