Overall and Final Verdict

The eight month wait after getting my hands on the Quickfire XT at CES was well worth the wait. I love the clean styling that Cooler Master went with. They managed that by removing most of the branding all over the keyboard and then coating the entire keyboard in a satin rubber like finish. Along with that of course they have the thinnest bezel design I have ever seen (beyond bezel-less designs of course). This means the Quickfire XT doesn’t take up any more space than needed while still giving you a complete full-sized keyboard. The improvements they made with the cable design are much easier to use than past Quickfire keyboards. The coolest hidden feature of the XT to me is the build in ability to adjust your report rates via the function key. The only real complaint I have is with the satin finish being hard to clean up my greasy paw prints, this is similar to other satin finished keyboards though. I hope we get to see a backlit option in the future as well. That is the only thing keeping me from running this on my main PC day to day, I spend too much time pecking at keys in the dark to give up my night vision. The Quickfire XT comes in at an MSRP of 89.99, a price that is very competitive against other enthusiast focused keyboards and frankly I doubt you will find many that compete with the XT’s styling.

You might call him obsessed or just a hardcore geek. Wes's obsession with gaming hardware and gadgets isn't anything new, he could be found taking things apart even as a child. When not poking around in PC's he can be found playing League of Legends, Awesomenauts, or Civilization 5 or watching a wide variety of TV shows and Movies. A car guy at heart, the same things that draw him into tweaking cars apply when building good looking fast computers.
