It is a 14-inch notebook with an all-magnesium-alloy chassis that weighs only 2.31 lbs and has a footprint no larger than many 13-inch notebooks. Magnesium alloy is an advanced lightweight material that is much more rigid than the standard aluminum alloy used in most notebooks. This outstanding rigidity allows the weight of B9440 to be dramatically reduced without compromising its strength.
B9440 is not only stylish, but also tough. It passes the demanding MIL-STD 810G standards for durability, and additionally has been subjected to enhanced ASUSPRO reliability testing. These torture tests include extra-high drop tests, 50,000-cycle hinge tests, lid pressure testing and keyboard spill resistance. B9440 takes the rigors of business travel in its stride, and ensures maximum up-time. The spill-resistant keyboard ensures that small spills don’t impact productivity.

The ultra-compact design of ASUSPRO B9440 is achieved by using a 14-inch Full HD wide-viewing-angle display with an ultra-narrow bezel that is just 0.21 in (5.4 mm) wide at the sides and top. This allows the display to fit into a frame with smaller dimensions than some 13-inch notebooks, giving more productive screen area in a form factor that is easy to carry anywhere. An anti-glare coating on the display reduces reflections, and this combines with the ‘floating screen’ effect created by the ultra-slim bezel to give users a completely distraction-free viewing experience.
The slim, ergonomic, spill-resistant keyboard on B9440 has a full-size 19.05mm key pitch, and features a specially designed tilting hinge mechanism that, when opened, automatically positions the keyboard at an ideal angle for comfortable typing. Additionally, the keycaps are sculpted with a 0.15mm dish shape that matches the user’s fingertip profile for extra comfort, and the long 1.5mm key travel gives enhanced tactile feedback for accurate typing. The large touchpad keypad is glass-covered for an ultra-smooth action, and supports multi-touch gestures. Other ergonomic features of this superb keyboard include a backlight for easy typing in poor lighting conditions.
For fast and robust biometric security, a convenient single-touch fingerprint sensor is integrated at the top of the keyboard area for instant login and authentication.
