Rock Band?

I am creating this topic to gauge the amount of interest there would be in a free play Rock Band setup, hopefully on the projector during the times in which the classic game tournament isn't running. I have everything we would need for this, including a large song library with all the Rock Band and Rock Band 2 exports, Rock Band AC/DC track pack, metal track pack, etc. I also have Beatles Rock Band and might get and import Green Day: Rock Band before the LAN.

Staff: Would this be doable? I picked my seat so that I would be near the projector and could help with any problems and make sure my stuff doesn't get trashed. I know noise could be an issue, and am fully willing to run things at whatever volume is deemed appropriate.

Everyone that isn't staff: Are you interested?

Yeah Im sure it would get played by many. Id play some guitar probably. I suck at drums and vocals would be embarrassing, lol.

MC Disease and myself are regular players of Rock Band, so we'd DEFINITELY be down. My only concern is being able to hear it without disturbing everyone else.

Dreyvas mentioned the possibility of having it in a side room? IIRC, there's a room down a hallway behind the pool tables. Would setting up Rock Band in there be possible if someone brought a TV?

After some thought, this would probably be the best way to proceed. If there is a second projector someone would like to bring or a medium-sized LCD TV, that would be perfect. I could also bring Smash Bros Brawl.

We could just turn it into a console games room, for people who are into that or get bored. I would be down for some Brawl/Melee.

I could also bring Mario Kart Wii.

Would love to play Rock Band again. I like the idea of a console game room.

This. I love to sing, but I sing loud, and if the music isn't loud, it sounds weird because I hate the sound of my own voice. I'd be down for it though, especially if we could figure out some way to crank up the volume.

Also, Brawl/Melee would be fun. It'll be awesome to find out how bad I've gotten, since I haven't played seriously in a over two years. I used to be pretty annoying with Wolf.

Also the other issue with this is that is a room used to give people space for sleeping. Things would have to be down before people start crashing back there. That may be an issue for some of you.

I think the problem of people wanting to sleep in the room could be easily overcome by simply limiting use of the room for gaming to non-designated quiet hours. As far as the TV, I have a 26" LCD I could bring if absolutely necessary. With all the other Rock Band stuff I'll be dragging along, though, I really would like to avoid this.

Assuming the room has a door we could close to avoid pissing people off, I could easily bring my 5.1 Logitech system for maximum crankage.

Townie has agreed to bring a 32" TV, so now it's pretty much down to whether we'll be able to use the room.

Yeah, I know that Aaron, Summer, and myself are planning on camping out overnight this time and would want that back room for sleeping. I have a huge airbed I'm bringing, haha.

I did vocals at one of the NeXus LAN events that was at Mound Street. Everybody loved me.

I own Rock Band, but haven't played it in quite some time. I'd be interested in seeing it done at LANOC.

So what is the verdict? Based on this thread, the feedback seems pretty overwhelmingly positive. Are we cool to play in the side room during non-quiet hours?
