I've been going to Lanwar events in Louisville Kentucky for a few years now and am thinking of branching out to some new LANS on the off months. LANOC will be a three hour drive for me, the games I mainly play are LoL, Trackmania, and CS:GO. Do LANOC attendees think it will be a worthwhile event fro a three hour drive? When does it start and end exactly?

Ohh Lanwar. MML hasn't been good since 2004. I'll be down to play Trackmania with ya. I don't have an invite to CS:GO though.

staff here also, I would be happy to sell you on it. But I think it would be better coming from our attendee's. I will say that most of the people who come to the LAN are actually coming from a 2-4 hour drive to get here. We have even had people come from as far as Toronto

I also run a for fun tournament at Lanwar called name that game, and I would be willing to run it at LANOC as well if you would like it.

Basically I setup a livestream from my PC where I play music from various video games and players have to be the first to guess the name of the game correctly. I usually play to 20 points and with 15-20 people that can take 1-2 hours.

What I've always wanted to do is to run it over a loudspeaker, and use a local IRC chatroom for people to guess the games.

I have been going to LanOC since V6 before I was on staff.

The single item that makes a good LAN is the people. The people that come to our LAN's are some of the best. Everyone always has a good time and if someone needs help our community jumps at the chance to help.

It's a big LAN with a small LAN feel. The new building also helps out. The newer building has more bathrooms along with being large in square feet.

Also our sponsor's are some of the best. We are always getting new ones along with some sponsor's being on board for awhile now. Either way, if you are a hard core PC gamer then our LAN is one of the best.

We also try to be fair with everything. You don't get more raffle tickets just because you need more space than someone else does.

The drive for me is around 2 1/2 hours and I wouldn't think about not coming. Then again, i'm on Staff so I have to be there, lol.

Like Adam said, we would be more than happy to have you as part of our biggest LAN to date. I hope you can make the trip up. More people = more fun!

It's so worth the drive. I come from two and a half hours away, and D-Raymac, Gweg, and Jerome all drive over three hours to the Lan. I would drive further to be a part of this great community. The people have become fast friends and and great gaming buds though steam, nightly if you want. Someone is always on and ready to play.

I will be attending with Teh_Tourist, me and him have been going to Lanwars for .... 14 or 15 events. He's going to drive up from his place where I meet him at. Look forward to another LAN, always seems like I am missing out since we lost our building we used to run monthly lans out of. I'm in it for the Swag. Now to find out where to sign up for tourneys:)

Various 400-500 Watt Power supplies (Lanwar 42-46)
Various Lanyards(lanwar/MML 8)
Various T-Shirts(MML 9)
Seagate 3TB XT Hard drive (Lanwar 48)

Ah that's different. Guess it's better that way then pore people probably sign up for them. One thing I haven't found out yet is it cool to bring an army cot to sleep on next to my computer during quite time? Also Are we allowed to bring our own chair(s)?

Yeah our software is where we run polls for different activity's, track tournament brackets and signups, food runs, and where even do our case mod contest voting.

You can setup your cot in a few of the open areas and also their is a back room that people will be able to sleep in. You just can't set it up until that night, that way it doesn't take up room during the main parts of the event.

Bringing your own chair is fine as long as it doesn't disrupt the flow around you. Last event the tables were placed a little to close together because of a miss communication during setup. This time their will be more room but we would still like to make sure people can fit through the isles easily. If you think your seat is going to be a little to large I would recommend picking a seat on the bottom left table on the seat map, there will be extra room.
