id like to hit my 8gb limit.

What would the average geek use it for. If I need it backed up, I have a link via hamachi to the computer at work. I back their stuff up, I figure it goes both ways. If I need portability, I use a thumb drive.

For under $20 you could pick up a 8+ gig flash drive and have the storage that you're getting without all the work of uploading it at whatever speed you have at your home.
If you've got pictures or stuff like that, most picture printing places will let you store them on their sites for people to access including yourself while out on the go.
Or you could always email it to yourself using gmail and store your files that way...

Does anyone else use this type of service? I guess i'd be intrested in finding out the reason. Maybe there is some instance where you would need online storage that i haven't thought of...

i lose flash drives
i forget flash drives
i break flash drives

dropbox is there whether ive done oany of those or not.

I might see where people who are collaborating on a project from a distance and everyone has access to all the same files.
