Why do you think a lot of new games are going Free To Play? Is it the new way of gaming, or are there too many games like them flooding the market?

Its a new way for developers to get a massive amount of people to start playing their game in hopes that they money rolls in later in small transactions. I think this is good for the smaller named gaming developers that might other wise have their title ignored if they were in a store next to the big name titles.

I don't mind this as long as the micro transactions are for cool looking things, instead of just spending the most real money to buy a amazingly better gun, unit, or global weapon that just makes it not fair to people who might be better but don't want to invest a ton of money into a game.
Skins, Hats, color schemes, bring them on, just keep the game fair in the process. It's a game, not a ebay auction that requires the most amount of money to win...

I don't understand how a game like this can be free to play unless all the micro-transactions will be cosmetic or it will be provided with ads. If this goes to towards the pay to win model than Command and Conquer and any RTS would be utterly done since it would just be the dude that spent 50 bucks for Mammoth tanks or whatever just rolling the free guy.

Amen, there is going to be a point where skill is trumped by the person willing to spend the most amount of money to win. Sad but it seems the way games are trying to go, slowly, but surely. Hopefully in the process they don't ruin any of the good games on the market and just keep these games for College students who have the extra disposable income to throw at the game and also 14 year old kids who blow all their lawn mowing money on games... Keep the adult games cosmetic and not game altering please!
