Well, I ended up kinda screwing myself with this build. I didn't realize that I had to get my seat paid for or it would be gone. I had to get this build finished for the FITES Lan this past weekend and had been putting all my spare money into it. I figured I would be able to toss the money for my seat right after the LAN. OOOPS! Anyway, I got my build finished (95% anyway) and I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. The paint job is real nice, but there are a few issues with it if you look really closely and I still have some more acrylic pieces to get finished up and my new edge-lit front door repainted. My plan for the next couple weeks is to take off the top panel and sides, hit them with some 1000 grit, give em another coat or two of base, respray the Pearl and then lay down some heavy coats of clear so I can sand and buff it to a PERFECT finish. I As it stands now, I will be hoping somebody has a spare ticket come up so I can still attend LANOC next month. Here's a few pictures and keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to show it off at LANOC.
Components: Fractal Design XL, ASUS Sabertooth Z77, Intel i7 3770k, 16GB Ripjaws X, EVGA GTX670 (ordering my waterblock for it next week), Seasonic X750 PSU, Samsung 830 128gb SSD (new 840 250GB on the way) 2TB WD Storage. Full H2O loop.
Last I heard there were two people who might be getting rid of their seats but they haven't posted up about it yet. Keep checking back and watch your pm's as well, they may contact using ether. (assuming you posted in the thread saying you need a seat)
Garfield, I have not posted, but will do it now. Thanks.
BTW, here are a couple more pictures showing a few things I will need to get finished up.
Here are the parts I still need to get finished up and a picture of how the edge-lit acrylic should look when I get it all done. I did get the SSD piece finished and it looks great in person, just kinda falls flat in the pictures. The side panel accents will look the same way. They are all painted already and now just need the edges sanded and the lighting installed.
I hope you make it Speedbump. I had a great time talking modding with you at the last Lan. The new build looks awesome, and super clean. I particularly like your wire sleeving. Man I hope you make it, so I can see that beast in person!
Thanks guys. My only regret...the lighting is not gonna happen for the LAN. REALLY wanted it done, but oh well, I'm still happy with it. I may take some time and sleeve up some other cables for the gpu, these ones have been done for a good while, and they are kinda discolored. Look dingy compared to the others. Either way, really pumped for the LAN. Can't wait.
Hey man, props! I seen your system on the cover of the CPU magazine at Microcenter. Got me pumped to see someones system I met at that LAN in a magazine, and of course your machine was looking sexy as usual.
