Antivirus Scan? was created by Twodavez
So how long does it take everyone to do an antivirus scan of their PC. This is something that should be done prior to and after any LAN parties, but how long does it take your software to do it?
Try to include the program you use, how much stuff you're scanning (50 gigs or 2 TBs), and total time for it to do it's thing. I'm sure computer speed plays a small part of the equation, so please chime in and let me know.

The reason i ask is that it seems to take mine about 4 hours to do about 600 gigs of data. I'm using Avira Antivir Personal (Because it's free).

I have no idea, because I set it to scan at times I'm not home.

Windows security essentianls. It's free. The good thing? With the SSD it goes by super fast. I only scan this drive cause the other ones are for games, music, photos and movies.

Avira (+1 karma Twodavez, good program and good post idea), 62 minutes for 120GB HDD, probably 90GB scanned. 1.9Ghz dual-core proc.
And for everyone else, your anti-virus program should document the results in a report, which can be found in the program. For Avira, it's in Overview on the left side. That's how I got my number. May be faster with recent Avira updates, but that seems about right.
