I'm looking into obtaining some Video Editing software to get some wedding footage & party videos onto DVD and i wanted some good programs that might work. I'd like to cut down videos, add sounds/music over & behind the videos sound, and be able to have screen transitions from video to video.
Does anyone currently use a program they love, or know of a good piece of software out there i could get?
Thanks for the help, there's lots of software out there and i can't try them all out and figure how which is the best!

I like Kino alright for what I do, it's also open source. It's not Final Cut Pro but it's not bad. www.kinodv.org/

So far my favorite has been Sony Vegas, but I haven't tried too many others to compare it too.
