Any pre-lan upgrades planned?

Went shopping at Microcenter the other nite for part 1 upgrades. I got this:

Corsair Vengence 70 Case
Cooler Master Seidon 120M Cooler

Depend on the refund amount I have a HTPC case mod I want to build. I'm thinking a wood frame, leds, and EL wire for the lettering. Think a combination of these pics!

I'm thinking about selling my current rig and moving to a laptop again.

tl;dr will likely upgrade my videocard late this year.


I'm quite satisfied with my current rig. I did some upgrading last year, from a Phenom II 955 to the i5 3570K, along with a new board. Overclocked to 4.5 GHz, this thing blows my old CPU out of the water.

I'll probably upgrade my Radeon HD 6950 late this year. It does fine for most games, but Crysis 3 seems to bring it to its knees, even with the overclocked i5. I can run it High, but the framerate is so inconsistent that I just stick it on Medium. It still looks great, but I'm jealous of Dreyvas and Rhythmatic, and anyone else with a 680 or better.

I've got a lot of things I'd like to pick up, a mobo/CPU combo for the Elite 120 will probably win. Competing with a Nexus 7 and a projector, and a new video card is in the back of my mind. This 6770 is starting to show some age.
