Just in case anyone was wondering... Here is what happened.
When I got home from work yesterday, I came home to a dark house. No electricity. I checked the breakers, and they were all ok, so I went to check the meter in the back. Lo and behold the dreaded red tag on the meter. For some reason my power had been cut. I did some calling around, and eventually, this morning, I found out that when we moved into this house about 2 months ago, there was some kind of mixup in the transfer of the utility.

It figures.

So, service should be restored sometime monday. (Assuming i can come up with the almost $300 they need to get it taken care of.) Its a dark weekend for me.

That's extremely unfortunate. On the bright side, maybe you could just sell one or two of the Cisco switches to make the payment.

Do what my dad did years ago when they cut the power at our house. Back years ago where we lived if they were going to shut off your power they installed a special meter that would allow you to have just enough power to run say your fridge and a few other things but if you were useing too much it would trip a built in breaker and shut off. So it was a kinda crappy situation. So my dad got fed up with that dang thing and since he has been an electrician for years he when and got a scrap piece of heavy gauge wire, drilled 2 holes in the side of the meter box and carefully jumped the new meter giving our house full power again. All was good for several months until we moved.

Hooray!!! Service has been restored!!! I still want to host a lan. Who is available for this Saturday at the same time?

If anyone wants to come, I will need some help with tables, as I think it may be difficult to ask for them again on such short notice. I borrowed them from my church last time. Im thinking of extending the time out from 2-??

Ive been thinking.... if I cant get 5 people to commit, I will cancel for now and maybe try again for in a few months. Maybe the 1st weekend of Dec.

That's the thing, you should start taking input on the date now. A lot of people have to plan pretty far in advance. That goes for me too. Sometimes I get lucky and parties fall on a weekend when I'm not already on-call, but I like to be sure.

So, lets just go ahead and make this official.... 1st weekend of December. Saturday Dec. 4th.

Still 20 seats, still same times. (Although I may get the ending time extended)

Should be fairly easy to mark this one on your calendars. We will do this NO MATTER WHAT!! If the power is out, I can have my kids run in giant hamster wheels to generate electricity!

Dang, when you mentioned earlier about the first week in December, I looked at the calendar and I'm on call that weekend. I already switched weeks around to be able to go to NexusLAN.
