Cosmos S Mods Part 1

December 17th, 2008
Comments Off

A few of you may have noticed that when I reviewed the Coolermaster Cosmos S a few weeks ago I didn’t use our normal test rig for the testing. I liked the case enough that I decided to move my personal rig over too it. I did have a few complaints about the case and I hope to post a few small updates on here as I work on making the case fit my style. My biggest complaint was the lack of a side window. Coolermaster was kind enough to send a new side panel with a window out to get me started on the updates to this case.’

December 15th, 2008

In the past, we have reviewed a VIZO laptop coolers a few times. We did enjoy them; in fact, I still use the mini Ninja II when I have my laptop at my main desk. The problem is when you leave your desk they weren’t designed to be carried around with your laptop. Considering that’s the point of a laptop I was really excited to see that VIZO recently came out with a portable laptop cooler called the XENA mini. They shipped one out for me to check out. I plan to find out how helpful the ZENA mini is for people “on the go”.

We have seen VIZO products come through here many times; they have even been involved with our Lan Partys in the past. I’m sure you have noticed they make a wide variety of items ranging from lighting to laptop accessories. Today I am going to take a look at their new Armada II ram cooler. I’ve been known to push things on my computer to the limit and heat is always a concern. The Armada II is designed to cool down your ram to be able to get a little more out of your overclock. I plan to see how it performs in my personal computer and seeing if the kit adds a little more style to my rig.

Having been looking for a powered USB hug to replace the junk one that came with our rock band kit I’ve learned two things. One, it’s hard to find any one hub that people can recommend. It seems the quality of almost every hub is hit or miss at best. Two it’s hard to find one that stands out. VIZO has been kind enough to send one of their “UFO” USB hubs along with a power kit. Let’s find out how they perform. Read more…

VIZO’s Cold Cathode’s

May 15th, 2008

In the word of gaming and Lan Partys, it’s about more than who is the best player. It’s also about showing off your rig. People spend months getting their computers setup looking sharp so people can drool over them online and in person. One of the many ways to do this is to add lighting to the inside of your case. Cold cathode lighting is one of the best ways to do this. There are many different brands, sizes, and colors to choose from. VIZO has provided us with a set of their blue 12 inch cold cathode lights to review today.

Vizo Master Panel II

May 14th, 2008

How many products can have a slogan of “No need to go the Back… Do it in the Front!!”? That alone is enough to get my attention, but I’m also a little bit of a perv. Vizo has provided the second iteration of their Master Panel. It’s designed to bring all of your normal usable ports to the front of the case. This could be perfect for people who have their plugs on top of their case. Read more after the jump.

Luxon Advanced ED

April 7th, 2008

I’m what some people would call a pack rat. Not in the traditional sense though.I save just about every file that ends up on my computer. I think it comes from being on dial up when I was younger. Why would you delete something that will take another 12 hours to re-download; if no one picks up the phone during that time. I’ve been hording for many years so as you can imagine, I’ve got a lot of junk. Because of this I am running 4 hard drives in my computer. With my case being a small mid tower I’m really hurting for space. That’s where the Luxon Advanced ED comes in; I finally have a way to add another hard drive without hollowing out a 3.5inch slot in my desk. Read on to see what I thought about it…

VIZO propeller II

March 26th, 2008

The one thing that has always been consistent with computers, no matter how old; is the battle with heat. Even back when you were plugging code into DOS, your computer was doing what it could to keep from overheating. Because of that there has been a large market for fans, heat sinks, vents, and just about anything else to try to keep the sensitive components of modern day computers cool. Sometimes you need a little more airflow in a case that doesn’t have room for any more conventional fans. This is where VIZO comes in with their Propeller II. We just happened to get our hands on one and put it through a few tests. See the surprising results after the jump.
