Something For the Masses: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
This is by no means a true review on Smash Bros.. Instead I’d like to review why this Nintendo super seller is getting the reviews it is, and in my opinion well deserved.

Fighting games are no new fad in our beloved hobby. And I know that this isn’t there first installment of Smash Bros, however many gamers are fairly new to having four players in one arena. Toss in the ability to chose 4 different remote settings and fully customize each remote to specific players, and call it a true brawl. Once you settle with a remote style and settings that fit you, you get to chose from 34 of Nintendo’s greatest players. (If you’ve played the game you will probably be thinking of a reply post at this moment because I said 34 greatest.. well if you don’t count Jiggly Puff as I don’t, the correct number is 34.)
Once actually in battle all the moves for every character are extremely simple. Giving somewhat of a balance between players, but timing is everything. Knowing what move will best your foe at any moment brings out the talent in the individual player. It may also get confusing for novice players to keep track of your character with all the potential chaos that will surely happen.
The overall simplicity of the game is quite possibly its greatest attribute. I found the single player story board, which lacks story all together, to be rather en-joyful. I’ve always considered myself to be an RPG fan, so to follow a story with absolutely no text is rather odd and yet easily adjustable. Further more the tremendous amount of unlock-able content is a bit on the overwhelming side. Tho when taking a closer look at what truly needs to be accomplished to unlock the content tends to be quite tedious.
Breaking it down, Smash Bros is getting most of its ratings from continued playable stars that most of us got our start on playing. Its like paying tribute to any classic game with a future twist. Simplicity in the game unparalleled to most any big name developer. Al-tho I always crave for a story driven game with many plot twists and turns. Smash Bros Brawl is the perfect mind numbing game when you just need a break.
