Overall and Final Verdict

Having owned a few of Asus’s DirecCU II cards in the past I came into this really excited to see how the R9 270X DirectCU II Top compared to the two other R9 270X’s that I have taken a look at over the past week and a half. In the end I was really happy with its performance both in game and cooling. For being up against cards with three fans it held its own in our cooling tests and even stayed quiet in the noise testing. For performance it did pull out ahead of the Gigabyte card across the board but the Sapphire card with an even higher overclock did show that there is still more room to be had with a higher overclock on both the GPU and Memory. Of course the Sapphire card is priced considerably higher as well, making this a good buy in comparison. I also think that the R9 270X DirectCU II Top has its styling going for it. The black and red styling that Asus is known for is extremely popular and this card sticks to it. If you are looking for a card that can play just about anything without breaking the bank that will go with your new Asus motherboard, this is the card!

You might call him obsessed or just a hardcore geek. Wes's obsession with gaming hardware and gadgets isn't anything new, he could be found taking things apart even as a child. When not poking around in PC's he can be found playing League of Legends, Awesomenauts, or Civilization 5 or watching a wide variety of TV shows and Movies. A car guy at heart, the same things that draw him into tweaking cars apply when building good looking fast computers.
