Overall

With top shelf performance, a free game, free HDMI cable, and a stylish cooler Sapphire’s HD 6950 Dirt 3 Edition a gem of a card. At first it was a little disappointing that it lacked artwork from Dirt 3, but the cooler they included has to be the best designs we have seen come out of Sapphire to date. Short of one of Sapphire's silent cards I doubt you will find many cards that are as quiet as this card, even at 100% fan speed. Even better is the inclusion of a bios switch that should make it safe to reflash your vBIOS to unlock some HD 6970 performance. On top of that you have full access to Sapphires TriXX software to tweak even more performance out of this card. It’s clear that Sapphire is trying to position this to be the go to card for tweaking. Because of that, and the included freebee’s this is an amazing value, one of the best on the market currently.

You might call him obsessed or just a hardcore geek. Wes's obsession with gaming hardware and gadgets isn't anything new, he could be found taking things apart even as a child. When not poking around in PC's he can be found playing League of Legends, Awesomenauts, or Civilization 5 or watching a wide variety of TV shows and Movies. A car guy at heart, the same things that draw him into tweaking cars apply when building good looking fast computers. Seems like a good card, to me atleast.

Nice to see the graphs now with the arrows pointing to which GPU it is.

We need more Nvidia card reviews!

Regardless, Dirt3 is a great game.

Can you flash this to a 6970?

Wait until you see the graphs for our next video card review! I spent a little time trying to reflash this card last night and didn't have luck, but I don't think it was the cards fault.

I would like to cover more Nvidia based cards also, we don't always have control over what cards we get in.

I am also working on retesting a lot of our past video cards to fill in all of our newer tests. That includes more Crossfire and SLI results.
