I have been waiting for this anouncment for a LONG time. Today Steam introduced their mobile app for iOS and Android. With the app you can chat with your steam friends and buy steam games. That means no missing out on sales because your away from your PC. We should be taking a closer look at the app here soon to see what else its capable of doing, stay tuned!

It should also be noted this is still in beta. The only way to sign up is to download and try to sign in. Some people will get to try it right away, others will have to wait a little longer

You might call him obsessed or just a hardcore geek. Wes's obsession with gaming hardware and gadgets isn't anything new, he could be found taking things apart even as a child. When not poking around in PC's he can be found playing League of Legends, Awesomenauts, or Civilization 5 or watching a wide variety of TV shows and Movies. A car guy at heart, the same things that draw him into tweaking cars apply when building good looking fast computers. If you are interested in writing for Wes here at LanOC you can reach out to him directly using our contact form.

Holding the volume down and the power button on ICS captures a screenshot. It's baked into ICS now.

This is going to be a HUGE problem for me. Now I can buy games on the go, my wallet just went and jumped in the toilet, need to go fish it out.

Those who wish to join the beta just need to download the Steam app (free of charge) and log in to their Steam account via the mobile app to express interest in the beta. Gamers will be added to the Closed Beta as the service ramps up.

You can play Steam games using the Splashtop app. Then again, you have to have your computer on and running the game. All it really is doing is streaming the game into your phone/tablet.

Onlive will actually let you buy games that work outta the game on phones/tablets. Defense Grid works but it's still better on PC.

Either one of those would get the job done.

I know that Splashtop works cause I bought it and have used it in the past. At the Nvidia press conference at CES they were also using it.

Over the last few years, I have been slowly upgrading our network. Some of it was just to clean things up but I have also been addressing issues that I have run into here and there as well. Most of that has been running smoothly but it seems like on the rare situations where I go on vacation or on...

Wired or wireless which do you prefer? In a perfect world, I prefer the audio quality of a wired headset but the convenience of wireless is worth it. You don’t have your cord getting in the way and you can keep your headset on even when you get up from your PC. Not to mention cord damage is one of...

Last year Crucial impressed with their first PCIe Gen 5 SSD the Crucial T700. Its performance was extremely impressive even when compared to fast PCIe Gen 4 devices. Well here we are at it once again and Crucial is stepping things up again with their latest drive the T705. Like with the T700, the...

It’s kind of crazy to think but the last time I had a Razer desktop microphone in for review was back in 2015 when I took a look at the Razer Seiren Pro . That wasn’t Razer’s first desktop microphone but it was part of their first generation of Seiren microphones and Razer has continued to evolve...

AMD launched, well relaunched their RX 7900 GRE today and I already took a look at the Hellhound that AMD sent over but Sapphire did also send their PURE RX 7900 GRE. I was a huge fan of the PURE the last time so I’m excited to see if their latest version is going to live up to that hype. One...

AMD’s GPU lineup started off with the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX models on the high end and later they filled in things with the RX 7800 XT and cards below that. But the gap between the RX 7900 XT and RX 7800 XT is a large one, especially with Nvidia having competition there with cards like the...

With the launch of the RTX 4080 SUPER, I took a look at the Founders Edition to check out the performance of Nvidia’s new GPU. The Founders Edition cards however aren’t available from some retailers and you might find yourself looking at other options. Lucky for us Asus sent over their ROG Strix...

With Nvidia’s CES announcements, they announced three different GPUs all with the previously used SUPER designation. I took a look at the RTX 4070 SUPER as well as the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER but the crown jewel in all of this was of course the RTX 4080 SUPER. The RTX 4090 is still the flagship GPU from...

Last year when I took a look at the Sapphire Pulse RX 7600 I was impressed with Sapphire’s design which while not as small as the reference AMD design was still compact where most other aftermarket cards weren’t. That seems to be the same this time around with the launch of the RX 7600 XT and...

It’s been a surprisingly busy 2024 with a list of different GPU launches that were all announced at CES. AMD didn’t just announce the RX 7600 XT at CES however, they also introduced a new line of CPUs their Ryzen 8000G Series, and a few new SKUs in the older Ryzen 5000 Series as well for AM4...

At CES this year we saw announcements from both Nvidia and AMD for upcoming GPUs and CPUs from AMD as well. Last week I took a look at the first of Nvidia’s new SUPER lineup, the RTX 4070 SUPER which improved on the original RTX 4070’s performance getting closer to the RTX 4070 Ti’s performance. Nvidia also announced the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4080 SUPER cards at CES this year as well and today is...
