Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – October 12, 2011 – BullGuard, specialists in user-friendly PC and mobile securitysolutions for consumers, has announced the release of the latest version of its award-winning Internet security suite with version 12. Building on previous success, the new edition offers a range of improvements and new key features to help streamline security for the modern user, making it one of the most comprehensive solutions on the market.

The previous version of the software was awarded full certification at independent test lab AV-Test Labs, an Advanced+ rating with AV-comparatives and an overall score of 9 out of 10 with Virus Bulletin, outperforming many of the leading rival suites in a range of categories.

“We’re building on that success with V12,” says Claus Villumsen, CTO at BullGuard. “Without compromising the integrity of our core security and protection, we’ve added new features to maintain the software’s accepted position as one of the most comprehensive suites around, as well as improving existing features to make them easier to use and more effective at combating emerging threats.”

Part of the reason for BullGuard’s excellent level of security is the use of Behavioral Detection, which is very different from traditional virus detection and brings the Antivirus engine to the front line with radical technology that ensures outstanding catch rates. Behavioral Detection identifies threats long before traditional methods, and is based on the behavior of the virus. Consequently, instead of merely catching viruses once they’ve been listed in the virus signature database, Behavioral Detection identifies viruses which behave abnormally based on file, registry, process, and network events on the computer and shuts them off.

Along with new Parental Controls, PC Tune Up and a revitalized interface designed to put the most important tools and information close at hand, BullGuard builds on its already extensive list of features, which still includes a massive 5GB of free online storage, fast-response direct customer support, a vulnerability scanner and free upgrades for existing users – the only vendor to offer this service.

“Our focus at BullGuard has always been to provide a combination of comprehensive security and usability,” says Claus Villumsen. “With the new version we’ve added parental controls to help manage every aspect of a child’s internet use, along with tune-up tools to keep a PC running smoothly. A key part of our strategy is to offer these solutions, along with existing features, in a straight forward, automated fashion to bring users maximum control with minimum maintenance and interruptions.”

“I’m particularly proud of our efforts when it comes to user experience,” continues Claus Vilumsen. “We always engage testers and users in a dialogue when we develop and design our products, and we pay a great deal of attention to the feedback we get from them. Sometimes this forces us to revisit everything we thought we knew, and I believe that’s a very healthy exercise when developing software.”

Over the last few years, I have been slowly upgrading our network. Some of it was just to clean things up but I have also been addressing issues that I have run into here and there as well. Most of that has been running smoothly but it seems like on the rare situations where I go on vacation or on...

Wired or wireless which do you prefer? In a perfect world, I prefer the audio quality of a wired headset but the convenience of wireless is worth it. You don’t have your cord getting in the way and you can keep your headset on even when you get up from your PC. Not to mention cord damage is one of...

Last year Crucial impressed with their first PCIe Gen 5 SSD the Crucial T700. Its performance was extremely impressive even when compared to fast PCIe Gen 4 devices. Well here we are at it once again and Crucial is stepping things up again with their latest drive the T705. Like with the T700, the...

It’s kind of crazy to think but the last time I had a Razer desktop microphone in for review was back in 2015 when I took a look at the Razer Seiren Pro . That wasn’t Razer’s first desktop microphone but it was part of their first generation of Seiren microphones and Razer has continued to evolve...

AMD launched, well relaunched their RX 7900 GRE today and I already took a look at the Hellhound that AMD sent over but Sapphire did also send their PURE RX 7900 GRE. I was a huge fan of the PURE the last time so I’m excited to see if their latest version is going to live up to that hype. One...

AMD’s GPU lineup started off with the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX models on the high end and later they filled in things with the RX 7800 XT and cards below that. But the gap between the RX 7900 XT and RX 7800 XT is a large one, especially with Nvidia having competition there with cards like the...

With Nvidia’s CES announcements, they announced three different GPUs all with the previously used SUPER designation. I took a look at the RTX 4070 SUPER as well as the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER but the crown jewel in all of this was of course the RTX 4080 SUPER. The RTX 4090 is still the flagship GPU from...

Last year when I took a look at the Sapphire Pulse RX 7600 I was impressed with Sapphire’s design which while not as small as the reference AMD design was still compact where most other aftermarket cards weren’t. That seems to be the same this time around with the launch of the RX 7600 XT and...
