The first Parlor City LAN on 7/26/14

This will be held in Bluffton, IN (about 45 mins south of Fort Wayne). We are renting the Expo Hall of the Wells County 4H building which will give us room and power for 125 BYOC seats. We will additionally have the room for 80 console and table top gamers in a different area. Adamswells Internet will be providing a 100MB+ fiber connection for the event!

BOYC - $20
Console - $10
Table Top - $10

You can take $5 off of any ticket by bringing approved food donations (details on registration page). These donations and proceeds of the event are going to the Backpack For Kids Foundation.

Correct! Essentially a one day event. Being a new kind of event at this venue location, the management wants to see the event in action before opening up to a two day rent. As long as everything goes good, it shouldn't be a problem for next time!

Midnight is also a pretty loose end time. As long as I'm cleared out in time for the next event to start setting up Sunday, it is whenever we decide to end things. I might call up the venue tomorrow and see if I can find out when exactly that would be.

Do you prefer to see two day LANs?

Well, I only ask is I would be driving from Columbus and 15 hours really isn't a good reason for that long of a drive. I hope it goes well. I completely understand the venue needs to see how it goes this time around. I will watch for your second event, when it comes around.

I'm with plague on this one as well I would be coming from Dayton Ohio so I too will wait and see if you expand to a two day event.

Hope that makes it reasonable for you guys to attend! We'd love to see you there.

Just wanted to clarify on the donation discount – you can receive $0.50 off your entry fee per every food item donated. There will be no limit to the number of items donated, but there will be a maximum discount of $5 off. Therefore, 10 items will get you the $5 dollar discount. These items will go directly to the Backpack for Kids Foundation. I’m still working on obtaining the official list of approved items, and it will be posted on facebook as well as the registration site once available... Although we require full admission be paid during registration, we’ll give you the donation discount as a refund at check-in of the event.

Additionally, we had to change the price of the table top entrance fee. It and console players will be $10/person, but you will be able to participate in both of these gaming areas as well as the open simulations and contests in the PC area.

Woo! Thanks!

Are any of you guys looking to stay at a hotel? If so, I can make a recommendation. All but one or two places to stay in Bluffton are kinda trashy... If you're just gonna crash somewhere at the event, there's plenty of floor space for a cot or air mattress.

My two recommendations would be:
Bluffton Inn & Suites ***
Holiday Inn Express

Bluffton I&S is closer than Holiday and their rooms are ~$69 a night for a King or two Queens. Holiday will be ~$89 for a night of the same bed options.

The ones I would AVOID are:
Budget Inn
Any motel on Main Street
-I can't remember their names, but all of them are known for drug trafficking

Enjoy my pretty picture to help visualize -- Holiday Inn Express is farther north of what appears on the map, it's near Walmart. Probably a 10 minute drive.
